About

Anni

I have worked in the mental health field in various capacities more than fifteen years, including work as a crisis line volunteer, advocate, family educator, crisis counselor and psychotherapist. During that time, I’ve worked extensively with trauma survivors, in school settings, rape crisis centers, domestic violence shelters, and family service agencies. I’ve offered trainings in sexual violence treatment and recovery, PTSD, secondary trauma, and work-life balance.

My education includes a Master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage, Family, and Children Counseling from California State University, Sacramento and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from University of California, Davis. In addition to general psychotherapy, my specialties are in trauma and sexuality.

I work with adolescents and adults of all ages, genders and sexualities in individual, couple, and group settings. I believe that any symptoms or behaviors currently bothering you served a purpose at one time; if they have ceased to be useful, together we can find ways to reduce or eliminate them. I draw most heavily from somatic, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, narrative and solution-focused modalities. I specialize in brief, focused work but can engage in longer term work, if this is more appropriate for your concerns.
